What are you most passionate about in your role at JOST&Co?
I am passionate about cutting-edge technology, including AI and automation tools, and finding ways to use it to do impactful work and provide data-driven insights for our clients and our own business.
What career journey have you taken to get here?
I completed my bachelor’s degree in 2019 and started my professional career in Bengaluru, India, where I worked in the healthcare IT domain. In 2022, I moved to Australia to undertake a master’s degree in information technology at Deakin University (which I recently completed) and started working with JOST&Co. I moved into a role as a System and Data Analyst in 2023 and have been enjoying every bit of it ever since!
What’s the best bit of career advice you’ve received?
There’s a story I heard from my sports idol that resonates with me as a career analogy.
The Chinese bamboo tree does not sprout for the first five years. But suddenly in its fifth year a tiny shoot will spring from the ground and it can grow up to 90 feet over the next six weeks. What was it doing during this seemingly dormant period? It was growing its roots. I try to emulate the Chinese bamboo by strengthening my roots, laying strong foundations with research and then delivering impactful outcomes to my stakeholders.
What do you love to do when you’re not at work?
I’m still enjoying exploring Melbourne, including finding new lookouts to appreciate and nature walks to explore. I also love watching movies.
What’s something few people know about you?
I have a strong creative side. When I was in India, I wrote and directed a few plays and short films. Since moving to Australia, I have continued to write down my thoughts so I hope there will be another creative work in my future.
